Your DAILY INTENTIONS Are More Important Than Your Long Term Goals

setting daily intentions

Obviously, it's important to have clearly defined goals so you know where your future is headed, but I would argue having and being committed to your daily 'intentions' is just as important. In this blog, I’ll give you an example of a personal goal and how I break it down into small daily ‘intentions’ I take action on every day to make consistent progress on my goal. And if you prefer to watch the video of me explaining how to do this, just scroll down to the bottom. Let’s get into it!

The Goal

I want to feel more grounded and have more inner peace on a day-to-day basis. For me, I discovered having a simple yoga practice that I can do quickly and from anywhere is a very practical and sustainable way I can accomplish this goal, even though I’m a new mom that only has part-time childcare three days a week. And for all you new mamas out there, you know how big od a deal this is, don’t you?!

Daily ‘Intentions’:

  • I’m already subscribed to “Yoga With Bird” on YouTube and saved one of her 30-Day Morning Yoga Challenge Playlists.

  • I wake up every day at 6:30am (sometimes earlier pending my kiddos sleeping pattern) and walk downstairs to our quiet serene basement, open the window to hear the birds singing, and then click on yoga video of the morning:)

  • If I have more time, I’ll stay on my mat longer for extra backbends and downward facing dogs - these two stretches really help loosen my lower back, which is super important for me.

That’s it! That’s my morning getting grounded and creating more peace within goal and daily ‘intentions’ which are pretty much fail proof.

Listen, if you’re new to practicing self-care and self-love, make getting started super simple. You can always upgrade your routine over time, but to be consistent for the first 30 days, make your routine practical and sustainable for your current lifestyle. Deal?!
